The fallow-stag is a medium sized deer, which stands out from other stags by its distinctive shovel antlers. Fallow-stags are diurnal and prefer to live in open landscapes in which forerst alternates with agricultural land.
Originally, the fallow-stag was said to be located preferentially in Asia Minor and Southwest Asia. It was the Romans who brought him as another big huntable game to Europe, where he has been able to evolve excellent. Today, Great Britain can boast probably with the largest fallow-deer population.
